AWS Elemental MediaPackage Adds Segment Accurate Live-to-VOD Asset Creation
Starting today, you can create video on-demand clips or programs from an AWS Elemental MediaPackage live channel. By making a live-to-VOD request with an IN and OUT time reference along with a Channel endpoint ID, MediaPackage will create a segment accurate asset and export it to your Amazon S3 bucket. You can then ingest that asset into a MediaPackage VOD packaging group to have it available in all the same formats as the live channel. For more details, please refer to the relevant Live-to-VOD and VOD packaging documention pages.
AWS Elemental MediaPackage provides up to 14 days of archive of a live channel, and has also increased its maximum catch-up window within a live manifest from nine to 18 hours for HLS, CMAF, and DASH when using compact manifests. For more details, please refer to the relevant documentation page. With MediaPackage, you can reduce workflow complexity, increase origin resiliency, and better protect multiscreen content without the risk of under or over-provisioning infrastructure.
MediaPackage functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based video workflows and offer the capabilities you need to transport, create, package, monetize and deliver video.
