Amazon Redshift Spectrum is now available in five additional AWS regions: EU (Paris, Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), and the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region.
Redshift Spectrum is a feature of Amazon Redshift that extends analytics to data stored in your Amazon S3 data lake, without requiring you to load or transform data. Redshift Spectrum supports open data formats, such as Parquet, ORC, JSON, and CSV. Redshift Spectrum also supports querying nested data with complex data types such as struct, array, or map. You can query data across Redshift and Amazon S3 to gain unique insights that are not possible to obtain by querying independent datasets. To learn more, visit the Redshift Spectrum documentation.
With the latest release, Amazon Redshift Spectrum is available across 19 regions globally: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), AWS GovCloud (US West), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), Middle East (Bahrain), EU (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris, Stockholm), and Asia Pacific (Hongkong, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo).
