Amazon FSx for Lustre is making it even easier to access high-performance FSx for Lustre file systems from Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Ubuntu with Lustre clients that are distributed from AWS repositories.
FSx for Lustre file systems are accessed from Linux using an open-source Lustre client. This client is included with Amazon Linux 2 and Amazon Linux. Before today, if using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Ubuntu, you downloaded clients from community repositories, applying patches and building the client as needed depending on your operating system version.
Starting today, the new AWS repositories for the Lustre client will provide clients compatible with the latest operating systems when these operating system versions are generally available. These repositories are available for Ubuntu 16.04+, Ubuntu 18.04+, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.7+, and CentOS 7.7+.
For more information, please see the Amazon FSx for Lustre documentation.
