Posted on: Apr 23, 2020

Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) is a fast, scalable, highly available, and fully managed document database service that supports MongoDB workloads. Amazon DocumentDB makes it easy and intuitive to store, query, and index JSON data.

Amazon DocumentDB continues to increase compatibility with MongoDB. Today, Amazon DocumentDB added support for improved multi-key indexing capabilities that include indexing of arrays greater than 2048 bytes and the ability to create a compound multi-key index with multiple keys in the same array. To learn more about these new capabilities, please see the documentation. The supported MongoDB APIs and aggregation pipeline capabilities for Amazon DocumentDB can be found here.

To use the new capabilities, you can create a new Amazon DocumentDB cluster with just a few clicks in the Amazon DocumentDB Management Console.
