Amazon Route 53 is now available in the AWS China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service. You can use Amazon Route 53 to manage public DNS for your applications and manage private DNS within your Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (Amazon VPCs). You can also set up health checking for your application components, such as web servers and database servers, which enables you to configure DNS failover and monitor the status of application endpoints. Amazon Route 53 provides a variety of custom routing features, such as weighted routing, latency-based routing, and geolocation routing (routing based on a user’s location). You can also create alias records, which enables you to easily route internet traffic to selected AWS resources, such as ELB load balancers and CloudFront distributions.
To use Route 53 in China, create an AWS (China) Account, which is a set of credentials that are distinct and separate from other AWS global Accounts.
