Amazon Redshift Spectrum is now available in four additional AWS Regions: Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Europe (Milan), and AWS GovCloud (US-East).
Redshift Spectrum is a feature of Amazon Redshift that extends analytics to data stored in your Amazon S3 data lake, without requiring you to load or transform data. Redshift Spectrum supports open data formats, such as Parquet, ORC, JSON, and CSV. Redshift Spectrum also supports querying nested data with complex data types such as struct, array, or map. You can query data across Redshift and Amazon S3 to gain unique insights that are not possible to obtain by querying independent datasets. To get started with Redshift Spectrum, see documentation and see this doc for Redshift Spectrum’s AWS Region availability.
