Today, AWS Systems Manager Quick Setup announces support for AWS Config, allowing you to enable AWS Config recording and deploy conformance packs across all the accounts and Regions in your organization – with a few clicks. Quick Setup also lets you customize the types of resources to record and conformance packs to deploy for different groups of organizational units (OUs).
Once you enable recording, AWS Config will continuously detect and record any changes for the types of resources relevant to you. Conformance packs are collections of AWS Config rules and remediation actions that can be deployed as a single entity to perform governance checks. Quick Setup automates the process of enabling recording for all or selected resource types across one or more OUs in your organization. Similarly, you can select the compliance frameworks and operational best practices relevant to your organization, and deploy those as conformance packs across all the accounts and Regions.
To get started, choose Quick Setup from the Systems Manager left navigation menu to set up AWS Config recording and to deploy Conformance Packs. Systems Manager Quick Setup support for AWS Organizations is available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), and South America (São Paulo) AWS Regions.
