Amazon EMR Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) that makes it easy for data scientists and data engineers to develop, visualize, and debug big data and analytics applications written in R, Python, Scala, and PySpark. With EMR Studio, you get fully managed notebooks based on JupyterLab. JupyterLab is the next-generation web-based user interface for open source Project Jupyter. Today, we are excited to announce that EMR Studio is now upgraded to JupyterLab v3.1.4, providing an enhanced user experience and new usability features.

With this upgrade, you have the ability to search through the cell outputs in notebooks, view the execution time and duration of a cell, and view the table of contents auto-generated from notebook markdown cells for easy navigation within the notebook. This new version also provides you with a visual indicator to identify cells in which the code has changed since the last execution. This upgrade is automatic and no action is required at your end.

EMR Studio is available in US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and South America (Sao Paulo) Regions.
