Amazon QuickSight introduces a new layout option called hierarchy layout for pivot tables. This allows users to view data in a hierarchical manner, where all row fields are presented in a single column with indentation to differentiate between items from different fields. The hierarchy layout optimizes space by reducing the footprint of row fields, creating more room for numeric data and resulting in more organized and compact pivot tables.
Additionally, the hierarchy layout supports enhanced navigation options through the updated pivot tables context menu. This provides users with a drilldown-like experience, enabling them to analyze root causes and explore data in greater detail for thorough analysis. For additional details click here.
The new hierarchy layout for pivot tables will be available in Amazon QuickSight Standard and Enterprise Editions in all QuickSight regions - US East (Ohio and N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland and London), South America (São Paulo) and AWS GovCloud (US-West).
