Amazon EFS Replication now supports failback, making it easier and more cost-effective to synchronize changes between EFS file systems after Disaster Recovery (DR) and other failover events.
Amazon EFS provides serverless, fully elastic file storage that makes it simple to set up and run file workloads in the cloud. Using Amazon EFS Replication, you can maintain an up-to-date secondary copy of your primary file system in the AWS Region of your choice. With this launch, you can now synchronize changes from your secondary file system back to your primary — for example, when performing failback workflows after a DR event – by simply switching the direction of your EFS Replication. EFS will automatically identify and transfer only incremental changes to synchronize your file systems.
EFS Replication failback support is available in all commercial AWS Regions and the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. To learn more, see the EFS documentation and get started by configuring EFS Replication in just a few clicks using the Amazon EFS Console, AWS CLI, AWS CloudFormation, and APIs.
