We are excited to announce public availability of AWS Mainframe Modernization File Transfer with BMC. This capability relies on BMC’s mainframe data set transfer technology to discover, transfer, and convert mainframe data sets for use on the AWS Cloud.
Customers can discover, transfer, and convert mainframe data sets directly through the AWS Mainframe Modernization service console without using separate ad hoc utilities. Mainframe data sets can be transferred to Amazon S3 storage with advanced compression, automation, and conversion of source mainframe encodings. Once the mainframe data is in the AWS Cloud, it can be harnessed for application modernization, analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to deliver agility, cost savings, and innovation.
The use cases for this capability include mainframe data transfer for
- Application modernization, migration, and augmentation projects,
- Innovation with AWS Cloud based services,
- Testing with AWS Cloud based test environments.
