AWS Mainframe Modernization Application Testing is now generally available
We are excited to announce the general availability of AWS Mainframe Modernization Application Testing, an AWS Mainframe Modernization service feature that automates functional equivalence testing for mainframe application modernization and migration to AWS, and regression testing.
When modernizing mainframe applications, customers typically spend a majority of their time on software testing requiring specialized skillsets. The diversity of languages, data formats, protocols, and system dependencies add to the testing complexity. To accelerate modernization and continuous testing even long after mainframe application modernization is complete, Application Testing provides cloud-native testing capabilities, including mainframe test recording, on-demand automated test replays, comparisons, and non-regression testing at scale. The feature validates functional equivalence between source and target applications by comparing underlying data changes at scale. This approach facilitates black box testing that is agnostic to application architecture and programming languages used. Data sources supported for such comparison include data sets, databases, and online screens.
Customers benefits from test case management, testing repeatability, and testing scalability, that translate to higher quality of mass modernization, faster completion of projects, and lower costs. Built-in automation, easy access in AWS Mainframe Modernization Console, and support for a wide variety of testing use cases can free up more time and resources for innovation.
