Amazon Polly launches more synthetic generative voices
Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of seven highly expressive Amazon Polly Generative voices in English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian.
Amazon Polly is a fully-managed service that turns text into lifelike speech, allowing you to create applications that talk and to build engaging speech-enabled products depending on your business needs.
Amazon Polly releases two new female-sounding voices (Indian English Kajal and Italian Bianca) and five new male-sounding generative voices: i.e., US Spanish Pedro, Mexican Spanish Andrés, European Spanish Sergio, German Daniel, and French Rémi. This launch not only expands the Polly Generative engine to twenty voices, but also offers a unique feature where the five new male-sounding voices have the same voice identity as the US English voice Matthew. The polyglot capability of the voice combined with high expressivity will be useful for customers with a global outreach. The same voice identity can speak multiple languages natively so that the end customers enjoy an accent-less switch from one language to another.
Kajal, Bianca, Pedro, Andrés, Sergio, Daniel, and Rémi generative voices are accessible in the US East (North Virginia), Europe (Frankfurt), and US West (Oregon) regions and complement the other types of voices that are already available in the same regions.
