Amazon Q Business now provides insights from your databases and data warehouses (preview)
Today, AWS announces the public preview of the integration between Amazon Q Business and Amazon QuickSight, delivering a transformative capability that unifies answers from structured data sources (databases, warehouses) and unstructured data (documents, wikis, emails) in a single application.
Amazon Q Business is a generative AI–powered assistant that can answer questions, provide summaries, generate content, and securely complete tasks based on data and information in your enterprise systems. Amazon QuickSight is a business intelligence (BI) tool that helps you visualize and understand your structured data through interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics. While organizations want to leverage generative AI for business insights, they experience fragmented access to unstructured and structured data.
With the QuickSight integration, customers can now link their structured sources to Amazon Q Business through QuickSight’s extensive set of data source connectors. Amazon Q Business responds in real time, combining the QuickSight answer from your structured sources with any other relevant information found in documents. For example, users could ask about revenue comparisons, and Amazon Q Business will return an answer from PDF financial reports along with real-time charts and metrics from QuickSight. This integration unifies insights across knowledge sources, helping organizations make more informed decisions while reducing the time and complexity traditionally required to gather insights.
This integration is available to all Amazon Q Business Pro, and Amazon QuickSight Reader Pro, and Author Pro users in the US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) AWS Regions. To learn more, visit the Amazon Q Business documentation site.
