AWS Compute Optimizer

General

AWS Compute Optimizer helps you identify and deliver AWS resource configurations. The Compute Optimizer console is designed to provide you with a global, cross-account view of resources analyzed by Compute Optimizer and recommendations so that you can identify optimization opportunities.

Identify improvement opportunities

You can identify and prioritize optimization opportunities through sets of dashboard-level metrics including savings opportunity and performance improvement opportunity. Savings opportunity metrics are defined to quantify the monthly savings you can achieve at the account level, resource type level, or resource level by adopting AWS Compute Optimizer recommendations. Performance improvement opportunity metrics are designed to quantify underprovisioned resources at the account level and resource type levels.

Enhanced infrastructure metrics

Enhanced infrastructure metrics is an AWS Compute Optimizer feature designed to improve recommendation accuracy and relevance for workloads with quarterly utilization patterns. Upon activation of the feature, Compute Optimizer is designed to ingest and analyze utilization metrics history.

AWS Compute Optimizer Automation

AWS Compute Optimizer Automation is a feature that is designed to implement cost and performance optimizations for your AWS resources based on Compute Optimizer recommendations. You can create automation rules to clean up and upgrade volumes when recommendations match your specified criteria. The feature is designed to include a dedicated dashboard to monitor automated actions and reverse changes.
