Quick Start Update: Deploying Magento on the AWS Cloud
AWS is pleased to release a major update to the Magento Quick Start reference deployment.
Magento is an open-source content management system for e-commerce websites. The Quick Start automates the implementation of Magento Community Edition in a highly available architecture on the AWS Cloud, using AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon VPC, and Amazon RDS. This automated deployment builds a cluster that runs Magento along with optional sample data.
This latest update includes the following enhancements:
- Support for Magento version 2.1
- Use of Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) for shared storage between EC2 instances
- Use of Amazon ElastiCache with the Redis cache engine
- Option to deploy cluster with SSL support
- Reduced time for auto-scaling instances through the use of pre-baked AMIs
The automated AWS CloudFormation templates included in the Quick Start support two customizable deployment options: end-to-end deployment into a new virtual private cloud (VPC), and deployment into your existing AWS infrastructure. The Quick Start also includes a deployment guide, which describes the Magento architecture on AWS, provides step-by-step instructions for deploying and configuring the software, and discusses customization options and design/performance considerations.
