AWS Cloud Institute Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: October 2, 2024
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in AWS Cloud Institute (the “Program”) and are an agreement between the applicable AWS contracting entity ("AWS," "we," "us," or "our") and you. You represent to us that you are 18 years or older and authorized to enter into these Terms. The Terms incorporate the AWS Learner Terms & Conditions (the “Learner Terms”) and take effect when you click the “Enroll” or “Register” button presented with them (the “Effective Date”). Unless defined below, capitalized terms will have the meanings described in Section 15 of the Learner Terms.
1. AWS Cloud Institute. AWS Cloud Institute is an AWS Training program as described at https://aws.amazon.com/training/aws-cloud-institute/, as may be updated from time to time.
2. Enrollment and Registration. There is no cost to apply to the Program, but you must complete an application before you are eligible to enroll. Once we validate you have completed it, we may invite you to enroll in the next quarter of the Program that has capacity. Capacity is limited, and we will generally fill the Program on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you enroll, you must continue to register for your courses by the start date of each quarter to maintain your spot in the Program. However, you may defer your start date, or pause your courses, for up to two quarters for any reason by visiting your learner dashboard and withdrawing from all of your registered courses. If you do not register for any courses for two consecutive quarters, we may un-enroll you from the Program.
3. Fees
3.1 Course Fees. The course fees for the Program are stated at https://aws.amazon.com/training/aws-cloud-institute/, and are also detailed on your learner dashboard and registration check-out pages. Taxes may apply. Each quarter, we will bill your AWS account for your registered course fees, in equal monthly installment payments, with the first payment due on the start date of the quarter. If all eligible payment methods we have on file for you are declined, you must provide us with a new eligible payment method within 14 days of notice to you, or we may un-enroll you from the Program. We will notify you of any changes to Program course fees on your learner dashboard and registration pages. Any such changes will be effective no earlier than the beginning of the next quarter.
3.2 AWS Service Usage. We will not charge you for AWS Services used to complete your Program course work. If you choose to use AWS Services beyond what is required for Program, you may take advantage of AWS Free Tier offers, which enable you to gain free, hands-on experience with more than 100 services on AWS. If your usage exceeds, or does not qualify for, AWS Free Tier offers, you are responsible for standard, pay-as-you-go service rates detailed on the AWS Pricing page, which will be billed to your AWS account.
4. Refund, Withdrawal, and Termination. Program course fees are non-refundable except as expressly set forth in these Terms.
4.1 By You. You may withdraw from the Program at any time, for any reason. If you withdraw from all of your courses within 3 business days of the Effective Date, you will not be responsible for any Program course fees. If you withdraw from any or all of your courses more than 3 business days after the Effective Date, we will stop ongoing monthly billing for the withdrawn course(s), but you will not receive a refund for course fees already billed. You may not transfer, sell, or assign your spot in the Program.
4.2 By Us. AWS may terminate the Program at our discretion on 90 days’ written notice, which may be by email. In the event of such termination, AWS agrees to allow then-enrolled learners continued access to the Program, and use of AWS Training Content, for twelve (12) months ( “Wind-Down Period”). Learners participating in the Program during the Wind-Down Period remain subject to these Terms. AWS may also terminate your participation in the Program at any time for conduct that we determine, in our discretion, violates these Terms or any applicable law, involves fraud or misuse of the Program, or is harmful to the Program or another learner. In case of such termination, AWS may immediately suspend your access to Program courses and the AWS Training Content.
5. Learner Handbook. The Program learner handbook (“Learner Handbook”) contains additional policies and procedures governing your participation in the Program, and it is incorporated by reference into these Terms. You can access the Learner Handbook from your learner dashboard.
6. Conflict. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Learner Terms, and any terms in the Learner Handbook, these Terms will control.
