Q: What is different about the AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra in 2019?

A: This year we’re offering more opportunities to learn, connect, and immerse yourself in this two-day Summit experience.

Builders’ Day (20 August 2019) is designed for developers, engineers, solution architects, and IT professionals who are keen to learn new skills. Take advantage of a range of hands-on workshops, aimed at helping you accelerate your training skills, whether you are new to the cloud or an expert. AWS experts will deliver all sessions. To register for Builders’ Day activities, indicate your interest upon registration.

Summit Day (21 August 2019) is designed for all professionals interested in the AWS Cloud. Whether you are a startup or large government agency, you will learn from other customers, and how partners and AWS experts can help you in your journey. The day will feature a keynote, five breakout tracks, exhibition theatres, and an interactive and experiential solutions expo, where you’ll meet many of our innovative partners.

Q: Who should attend the AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra?

A: Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at the AWS Public Sector Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

All AWS Public Sector Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS engineers, and hands-on technical training. You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to get your technical questions answered.

Q: What does the conference agenda entail?

Q: Will the sessions be in English?

A: This AWS Summit will be in English only.  

Q: Will the slides be shared after the event?

A: Yes, slides will be made available following the event. Be on the lookout for an email granting access to an exclusive AWS Summit On-Demand page in the days following the event.

Q: Do you accept submissions for speakers/session ideas?

A: At this time, we are not accepting submissions for AWS Summit speakers or session content. However, we always appreciate customer feedback, made possible through surveys.


Q: How do I register?

A: Click "Register Now" above to start the registration process. Space is limited so reserve your seat today.

Q: Where is my confirmation email?

A: You should receive a confirmation email shortly after registering. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder. Once you have checked your spam folder, if you still haven't received your confirmation email, please contact us.

You will be provided with a "Know Before You Go" email with a barcode, in the lead-up to AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra. Present the barcode on the day of the event to obtain your name badge.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?

A: AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra will include keynote presentations with global speakers and customer stories, as well as over 40 sessions led by AWS experts. Meals offered include morning tea, lunch, and afternoon refreshments. This year we have the Developers Lounge on the expo floor and purpose built meeting rooms. Get hands-on with technology, have your questions answered by the AWS developer team, and enjoy technical demonstrations from AWS and our Partners. Meals offered include lunch and snacks.

Q: What is the price of registration?

A: Registration for the AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra and the Builders' Day workshops are complimentary.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: You may cancel your Summit registration by contacting us. Note: ticket cancellation does not include a confirmation email.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session?

A: Onsite at the AWS Public Sector Summit, breakout sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-seated basis. As seats are not guaranteed, there is no need to pre-register. You will be able to build your own agenda via the event app to assist you in planning your event experience. This does not guarantee you a seat for sessions, as rooms will be filled on a first- come, first-seated basis.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?

A: The AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra venue, National Convention Centre Canberra, has been designed to make everyone’s visit as productive and comfortable as possible. If you need additional assistance or have accommodation requests, please contact us at least one week prior to the event. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.

Q: What special dietary requirements are accommodated?

A: Vegetarian and limited gluten free options are available and labeled at lunch.

Q: How do I get to the venue?

A: AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra 2019 will be held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.

Coach from Sydney
There will be a complimentary coach travelling from Sydney to Canberra on the morning of the Summit, leaving at 5:30AM and returning to Sydney after the last session, at 6:00PM.  

There is also a carpark across the street from the venue and an undercover carpark underneath, which charges an hourly rate.
