Q: Who should attend AWS Public Sector Canberra?
AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra is taking place on Wednesday, September 12. Offering over 40 breakout sessions, the Summit is designed to educate new customers about the AWS cloud infrastructure and offer existing customers best practices and deep technical content to be more successful with their cloud adoption journey.

The sessions and ancillary activities offered will cater to IT professionals, developers, and cloud practitioners in technical and management-level roles from organisations of all sizes. Our content is customised to both the business and technical side of the house, ranging from beginners to mature users of AWS. Keep an eye out for updates to the agenda for more information.

Q: How can I justify my attendance to AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra to my manager?

Q: What is included in the event registration?
AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra will include keynote presentations with global speakers and customer stories, as well as over 40 sessions led by AWS experts. Meals offered include morning tea, lunch, and afternoon refreshments. New this year is the Cloud Lounge on the expo floor where you can get hands-on with technology and have your technical questions answered by the AWS developer team.

Q: Can I get a confirmation of my Summit registration?
Upon completing the online registration, you will receive an email with details of the event. Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive this within 24 hours of registering online. You will be provided with a "Know Before You Go" email in the lead up to AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra with a barcode. You will be required to present the barcode on the day to access your event name badge.  

Q: Can I sign up for sessions I want to attend?
You will be able to build your own agenda via the event app to assist you in planning your event experience. This does not guarantee you a seat for the session as rooms will be filled on a first- come, first-seated basis.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session?
We encourage you to build your own agenda on the app, which will launch in advance of the event. As per above, this does not guarantee you a seat in the session as spots are available on a first- come, first-seated basis.

Q: Will the slides be shared after the event?
Recordings of the keynotes and some of the sessions will be available ‘on-demand’.

Q: Do you offer special dietary meals?
We aim to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements, however we cannot guarantee this will cover specific or individual requests. If you have specific dietary needs, or if you are looking for a wider variety of options, we kindly recommend that you bring meals best suited to your dietary requirements.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?
The event venue, the National Convention Centre, Canberra, has been designed to make everyone’s visit a fully accessible and inclusive event experience. Coach from Sydney
There will be complimentary coaches travelling from Sydney to Canberra on the morning of the Summit, leaving at 5:30am and returning to Sydney after the last session at 6:00pm. Please indicate upon registration that you would like to request for a seat on the coach.

Q: What accommodations are available?
Parliament is sitting during the week of the AWS Public Sector Summit Canberra 2018, so we urge you to book your travel and accommodation as soon as possible. There are many hotels and motels in Canberra. Those that are closest to the event include:

    Terms include: A valid credit card is required to guarantee the booking. Payment is collected from guest directly upon arrival. Please be advised that a 14 day cancellation policy applies. This means that any cancellations, no show or reduction on the number of room nights within the 14 day window will be charged in full. The special contracted rates are available until 14 days prior to arrival unless sold out prior.

Your safety and security is important to us. You and your property may be subject to a reasonable search before you enter an AWS Summit. We may ask you to leave an AWS Summit if your behavior causes us concern for the safety and security of other attendees.
