G2 Instances are now available in our EU (Frankfurt) region. G2 instances feature two sizes, the g2.2xlarge and g2.8xlarge. The g2.2xlarge is backed by a single high-performance NVIDIA GRID GPU, making it well suited for 3D visualizations or streaming graphics-intensive applications. The g2.8xlarge instance is backed by four high-performance NVIDIA GPUs, making it well suited for GPU compute workloads including large scale rendering, machine learning, transcoding, and other server-side workloads that require massive parallel processing power. With G2 instances, you can build high-performance DirectX, OpenGL, CUDA, and OpenCL applications and services without making expensive up-front capital investments.

G2 instances are also available in the US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo) AWS regions. Customers can launch G2 instances using the AWS console, Amazon EC2 command line interface, AWS SDKs and third party libraries.
