Today, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) added support for roles in the policy simulator, enabling you to test the effects of your roles’ access control policies. You can now use the policy simulator to troubleshoot permissions and verify access for managed or inline policies attached to a role in your account. Additionally, you can use the policy simulator as a “playground” to help you author least privilege policies for your roles. The policy simulator helps you to author and validate your policies by enabling you to simulate a single policy or a combination of policies.
To get started, sign in to the IAM console, or go directly to the IAM policy simulator. You can learn more about the policy simulator by visiting Working with the IAM Policy Simulator.
