We are pleased to announce that the AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) has added two more data warehouses as sources for schema conversion. SCT can now convert Netezza and Greenplum data warehouse schemas to their equivalent in Amazon Redshift giving you the flexibility to move AWS’ fast, fully-managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse.

For existing Amazon Redshift users, SCT can now analyze your current schema, automatically collect statistics, and run an optimization action to suggest difference distributions and sort key columns to optimize performance. These suggestions can be summarized in a report and applied to a cluster.

For relational database conversions, the engine has also been enhanced to offer even more automated conversions should you wish to switch from a commercial database to a cloud-native, open-source compatible solution.

For more information about AWS Schema Conversion Tool please visit the DMS homepage, review the SCT documentation website, or the Release Notes.

The latest version of the AWS Schema Conversion Tool for the development platform of your choice can always be downloaded from the following locations: Windows, Mac, Fedora, and Ubuntu.
