You can now assign tags to API Stages in Amazon API Gateway. Using tags, it becomes easier for customers to categorize and track cost allocation for API request invocation and caching.

A tag is a label that you assign to an API Stage. Each tag consists of a key and a value. You can use tags to organize your resources or to track your AWS costs on a detailed level. For example, when you add a tag of Department: Sales to an API Stage, it shows up in the AWS Billing Management Console as a cost allocation tag. It can then be used for filter and grouping cost and usage using Cost Explorer. You can assign, remove or list tags using AWS Management Console, AWS CLI or SDKs, and API Gateway REST API. Visit our documentation to learn more about setting up tags for API Stages in API Gateway.
