AWS Elemental MediaConvert Introduces Basic Pricing Tier
AWS Elemental MediaConvert, a file-based video processing service, is now available in two pricing tiers that differ based on the encoding capabilities they include. The existing Professional tier offers a full suite of professional video processing features designed for broadcast and multiscreen delivery of high-quality video outputs. The Professional tier includes creation of MPEG-2, AVC, HEVC, and Apple ProRes outputs, dual-pass and high-quality encoding, and other advanced features, with rates starting at $0.0120/minute. The new lower cost Basic tier is intended for simple web distribution use cases. The Basic tier supports outputs using the AVC codec and single-pass transcoding, with rates starting at $0.0075/minute.
AWS Elemental MediaConvert allows video providers with any size content library to easily and reliably transcode on-demand content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery. The service functions independently or as part of AWS Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities you need to create, package, and deliver video.
