AWS IoT Device Tester, a Windows/Linux/Mac test automation tool for connected devices, is now generally available. You can use AWS IoT Device Tester to easily determine if your devices running Amazon FreeRTOS or AWS IoT Greengrass can be authenticated by and interoperate with AWS IoT Services. Also, passing the AWS IoT Device Tester tests is required in order to be listed in the AWS Partner Device Catalog. There are two versions of AWS IoT Device Tester, AWS IoT Device Tester for Amazon FreeRTOS and AWS IoT Device Tester for AWS IoT Greengrass.
AWS IoT Device Tester for Amazon FreeRTOS verifies that your implementation of Amazon FreeRTOS libraries works well with your microcontroller board device drivers. In addition, it also performs automated end-to-end tests with AWS IoT Core to give you confidence that your microcontroller based device meets the security and functional requirements to interoperate with AWS IoT services. You can learn more about AWS IoT Device Tester for Amazon FreeRTOS here or on the AWS IoT Blog.
AWS IoT Device Tester for AWS IoT Greengrass verifies that the combination of your Linux device’s CPU architecture, Linux kernel configuration, and drivers work with AWS IoT Greengrass. It performs a series of automated funtional tests including end-to-end tests with AWS IoT Core to validate that your device can interoperate with AWS IoT Services.
