Amazon RDS for MySQL has been updated to support release 8.0.16 of the MySQL database. This release includes a number of security, account management, and other functionality improvements, along with a number of bug fixes.
To use the new version, you can create a new Amazon RDS database instance with just a few clicks in the Amazon RDS Management Console, or modify an existing instance using a point-and-click upgrade. See the documentation for more information about MySQL versions and upgrade procedures.
