You can now proactively manage your quotas with Amazon CloudWatch Usage Metrics and Service Quotas Integration. Usage Metrics provide visibility into resource and API utilization for your AWS services. A new Metric Math function allows you to retrieve your most up-to-date quotas from Service Quotas. With these capabilities you have greater visibility into your service usage, and you can start to proactively manage your quotas.
You can configure alarms that alert you to approaching quota and visualize your current service usage on custom dashboards, so you can effectively manage your quotas. At launch, you can retrieve Usage Metrics and service quotas for Amazon EC2, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS), AWS CloudHSM, and Amazon CloudWatch, with more coming soon.
Usage Metrics and service quotas can also be retrieved using the AWS SDK and CLI. Usage Metrics and Metric Math function are available at no additional charge. Standard pricing applies for metric math alarms.
