Alexa for Business now supports new meeting room capabilities that help employees end meetings on time, automatically free up reserved but unused meeting rooms, and provide meeting room utilization insights for your organization.

Employees often struggle to end meetings on time, which can cause the rest of the meetings in a room to start late for the rest of the day. Now, Alexa can provide end of meeting audio reminders to prompt employees to wrap up their meeting, allowing the next meeting to start punctually.

With the new intelligent room release capability, Alexa can automatically release a meeting room reservation after a configurable time period if no one checks-in. Alexa will automatically check in employees when they use Alexa to join the meetings, or are in a conference call on a compatible device with Alexa built-in. Or, they can just say “Alexa, check in.”

In addition, Alexa for Business now provides meeting room utilization metrics such as total number of meetings, most and least used meeting rooms, reservation attendance rate, and meeting rooms hours freed up by Alexa. These features collectively enable IT & facilities groups to deliver higher return on investment by giving visibility into and improving utilization of meeting rooms.

These features are available today and integrate with both Office 365 and G Suite calendaring systems. Alexa for Business is generally available in the US East (N. Virginia) region.
