Today, AWS announced plans to open a full AWS Region in Osaka, Japan. Expected in early 2021, the Asia Pacific (Osaka) Region will be launched by expanding the existing AWS (Osaka) Local Region with the addition of two new Availability Zones and an increased service portfolio.
The Asia Pacific (Osaka) Region will become AWS’s ninth region in Asia Pacific, joining existing regions in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Ningxia, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo. Worldwide, AWS currently provides 69 Availability Zones across 22 infrastructure regions. With this announcement, AWS now has announced plans for 16 more Availability Zones and five more Regions in Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and Spain.
