Amazon RDS for SQL Server supports new Minor Versions
New minor versions of Microsoft SQL Server are now available on Amazon RDS for SQL Server, offering performance and security fixes. Amazon RDS for SQL Server supports them for Microsoft SQL Server 2017, 2016, 2014, and 2012 for Express, Web, Standard, and Enterprise Editions on Windows operating systems.
We encourage you to upgrade your RDS for SQL Server database instances at your convenience. You can upgrade with just a few clicks in the RDS Management Console or using the AWS CLI.
