Today, AWS announces a new feature of AWS Systems Manager Application Manager that customers can use to manage Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) clusters. This feature provides IT professionals the ability to view operational data, manage compliance, and take remedial actions on their ECS clusters.
With Application Manager, customers can discover and manage applications across multiple AWS services like AWS CloudFormation stacks, AWS Service Catalog App Registry, AWS Resource Groups, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) clusters, and AWS Launch Wizard. Now customers can manage Amazon ECS clusters as a single unit, along with their other applications and Amazon EKS clusters. With Application Manager, customers can automatically discover all ECS clusters and instances in their AWS account. Customers can then view operational and compliance data like alarms, operational issues, and logs aggregated from services such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Config, and AWS Systems Manager OpsCenter in a single dashboard. Application Manager includes predefined Systems Manager Automation runbooks for remediating common issues with ECS clusters.
This new feature is available in all AWS Regions where Systems Manager is offered excluding AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. For information about Application Manager, see our documentation. To learn more about AWS Systems Manager, visit our product page.
