Today, AWS announced AWS Application Cost Profiler, a managed service that enables you to view apportioned cost of AWS resources for software applications shared by multiple users (a.k.a. tenants).
Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can use AWS Application Cost Profiler to get granular cost breakdown and help understand gross margin of each tenant. Organizations who run software applications shared among different teams can use AWS Application Cost Profiler to define internal proportionate cost allocation models based on usage.
AWS Application Cost Profiler collects tenant metadata and reports hourly breakdown of cost per tenant on a daily and monthly basis. You can get detailed reports at the desired frequency and consume programmatically to build your own dashboard to track cost patterns and margins by tenant. With Application Cost Profiler, you can now access the detailed tenant level cost insights and adjust the architectural design, product pricing strategy, and cost allocation model to achieve the highest adoption and profitability.
AWS Application Cost Profiler is available in all commercial AWS Regions, excluding the AWS China (Beijing) Region and the AWS China (Ningxia) Region.
