AWS CloudFormation now supports increased limits on the default number of stacks allowed per AWS account. The number of stacks that can be created in an account is now 2000 (previously 200).
CloudFormation allows you to model, provision and manage cloud resources in a safe, predictable, and scalable manner. As you innovate and expand your AWS footprint, this release enables you to create more stacks in a single AWS account, so you don't have to consolidate all your resources within fewer stacks. With this launch, by default, you can create up to 2000 stacks within an AWS account. To get started, read our AWS CloudFormation quotas.
This limit increase is available in 23 regions including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), AWS GovCloud (US-East, US-West), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Milan, Paris, Stockholm), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Mumbai, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), Middle East (Bahrain), Africa (Cape Town), and South America (São Paulo) at no additional charge.
