Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) for Oracle now supports the July 2021 Patch Set Update (PSU) for Oracle Database 12.1 and Release Updates (RU) for Oracle Database 12.2 and 19c.
Oracle PSUs contain bug fixes and other critical security updates. Beginning with Oracle Database version 12.2.0.1, Amazon RDS for Oracle supports Release Updates (RU) in place of the PSU. If the Auto minor version upgrade (AmVU) option is enabled, the DB instance is upgraded to the latest quarterly PSU or RU four to six weeks after it is made available by Amazon RDS for Oracle in your AWS region.
