Today, we announced the AWS Migration and Modernization Competency. These AWS Partners have deep domain expertise in offering software products that enable customers to migrate and modernize applications while customers move to the cloud. AWS Migration and Modernization Competency Partners can help customers optimize cost and reduce TCO, modernize legacy applications and data, and reduce operational burden.
Lack of legacy application knowledge, business criticality, specialized skill requirement, and unstandardized processes around application modernization can prevent customers from modernizing applications and data at scale. As a result, customers running their workloads on premises and trying to modernize their applications on AWS will sometimes take the least resistant path to simply lift and shift these workloads. Customers need validated software products to help them reduce time, cost, and risk undertaking application modernization initiatives at scale.
