Authors of Amazon QuickSight can now improve readability of points on maps visual by changing the points style to cluster points. When hundreds of data points are clumped together with many of them so close in proximity that they overlap and are not visible, cluster points makes is it easy for readers to find patterns or identify locations with greater of fewer number of data-points.
Cluster points is a different style for displaying points on maps, letting readers manage multiple markers at different zoom levels. When enabled, the markers in close proximity are clustered into one marker with a number indicating the number of markers in that cluster. As readers zoom into any of the cluster locations, the number on the cluster decreases, and they begin to see the individual markers on the map. Zooming out of the map consolidates the markers into clusters again. See here for more details.
