Today, Amazon QuickSight is announcing the general availability of a new connector for QuickSight that will enable customers to natively connect to Databricks. This launch allows you to connect to and visualize data from the Databricks SQL version of the platform.
With the QuickSight connector for Databricks, you will be able to create a new data source in QuickSight that connects to a Databricks Lakehouse (SQL version). Customers can choose to ingest the data from delta tables directly into QuickSight’s SPICE (Super-fast, parallel, in-memory Calculation Engine) engine or use direct query to query the data directly where it resides in the Databricks SQL. The new connector supports both public as well as private VPC connectivity. Visit our User Guide to learn more.
The Databricks connector for QuickSight will be available in Amazon QuickSight Standard and Enterprise Editions in all QuickSight regions - US East (Ohio and N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland and London), South America (São Paulo) and AWS GovCloud (US-West).
