AWS Launch Wizard now allows you to deploy SAP HANA databases using Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP volumes in single node, multi-node, and high availability (HA) deployment patterns.

With today’s launch, you can automate the deployment and configuration of Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP volumes for running SAP HANA data, log, shared, and kernel file systems. After you answer a few questions about your SAP landscape, AWS Launch Wizard will recommend an Amazon EC2 instance type and minimum recommended capacity for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP volumes based on AWS and SAP best practices. You can choose to use this capacity or change it based on your unique requirements.

This launch also allows you to take advantage of SAP HANA Host Auto-Failover, a built-in, fully automated high availability solution for recovering from the failure of a SAP HANA host in scale-out deployments.

AWS Launch Wizard offers a guided way of sizing, configuring, and deploying AWS resources for third party applications, such as Microsoft SQL Server Always On and HANA based SAP systems, without the need to manually identify and provision individual AWS resources. Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP provides fully managed shared storage in the AWS Cloud with the popular data access and management capabilities of ONTAP.
