AWS Launch Wizard for SQL Server
AWS Launch Wizard for SQL Server offers you a guided way of sizing, configuring, and deploying self-managed high availability SQL Server solutions on Amazon EC2 without you having to identify and provision individual AWS resources. You simply input your SQL Server requirements including performance, number of nodes, and connectivity in the console, and AWS Launch Wizard recommends the right AWS resources, such as EC2 instances and EBS volumes, to deploy your SQL Server application. The Launch Wizard also presents you with an estimated cost of deployment for these resources. You have the ability to modify the recommended resources and instantly see an updated cost assessment. Once you approve the AWS resources, AWS Launch Wizard automatically provisions and configures them to create a production ready SQL Server Always On deployment.
AWS Launch Wizard also creates CloudFormation templates that can serve as a baseline to accelerate subsequent SQL Server Always On deployments. AWS Launch Wizard is available to you at no additional charge. You only pay for the AWS resources that are provisioned for running your SQL Server Always On solution.
You can also deploy SQL Server solutions using the Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) for SQL Server. Amazon RDS makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale your database on AWS by automating time-consuming database management tasks. Learn more about RDS for SQL Server.
