Amazon Redshift now supports up to 200K tables for Redshift Serverless and for data warehouse clusters with ra3.4xlarge, ra3.16xlarge, and dc2.8xlarge node types. This feature is intended for customers with workloads that require a large number of tables to run with Amazon Redshift without having to split the tables across multiple warehouses.

Until now Amazon Redshift supported 100K tables for above-mentioned node types in a single data warehouse. Customers with more tables had to split their tables across Redshift warehouses or move some tables to Amazon S3. Now customers can migrate their workloads that use up to 200K tables to Amazon Redshift without splitting or moving their tables. This capability is automatically enabled for Redshift Serverless and on all supported node types for existing and new warehouses. Customers don’t need to change their workloads, data ingestion, or their applications to take advantage of this feature. The limit includes user-defined temporary tables and temporary tables created by Amazon Redshift during query processing or system maintenance. Views are not included in this limit.

Amazon Redshift’s support for 200K tables is available in all AWS Regions where Redshift clusters and Redshift Serverless are available. Please refer to the AWS Region Table for Amazon Redshift’s availability.
