Amazon Timestream announces the general availability of Customer Defined Partition Keys, providing additional flexibility for customers to partition their data based on their needs, and optimizing data collocation for lower query latency.
Amazon Timestream is a fast, scalable, secure, and purpose-built time series database that enables analysis of time-series data cost-effectively. With Customer Defined Partition Keys, customer can organize data more efficiently obtaining significant performance gains.To get started, customers can use the feature through console, CLI, or SDK where, at table creation, they can define the attribute to use to partition the data based on their required access patterns. Once defined, customers can simply start to ingest their data, and Timestream will optimize data storage to retrieve the data effectively, improving query performance.
