Starting today, AWS Lambda SnapStart for Java is available in 7 additional AWS Regions: Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Jakarta, Osaka), Europe (Milan, Paris) and Middle East (Bahrain).

AWS Lambda SnapStart is a performance optimization that makes it easier for you to build highly responsive and scalable Java applications using Lambda, without having to provision resources or spend time and effort implementing complex performance optimizations. Lambda SnapStart can be enabled for new or existing Java-based functions running on AWS Corretto distribution of OpenJDK - Amazon Corretto 11 or Amazon Corretto 17.

Customers can enable SnapStart using the AWS Lambda API, AWS Management Console, AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI), AWS Cloud Formation, AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM), AWS SDK, and AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK). For more information on getting started with SnapStart, please refer to our documentation.
