Starting today, AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory customers can access directory administrative EC2 instances easily from the AWS Directory Service console. Now, within minutes you can deploy a preconfigured domain-joined EC2 instance with Microsoft Active Directory administrative tools.
This provide you a simpler way to identify and connect to your directory administrative instances to perform tasks such as creating and updating users, groups, and computers. Additionally, you can configure Group Policy objects and DNS, access event logs, and run custom PowerShell scripts.
This new feature is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Managed Microsoft AD is available, except the AWS GovCloud (US) regions and opt-in regions.
For step-by-step instructions, please see the Manage users and groups in AWS Managed Microsoft AD article. To learn more, see the AWS Directory Service Administration Guide.
