AWS announces two new pricing options for AWS Private 5G for longer-term network deployments. Now, in addition to the 60-day pricing option, you can deploy your private mobile network with a 1-year or 3-year pricing option, at a lower per-hourly rate.
AWS Private 5G, a managed service that includes pre-integrated hardware and software, reduces the amount of time it takes to setup your own private mobile network. Use cases for AWS Private 5G include smart manufacturing (e.g. warehouse that need to connect to scanners, tablets, and robots), and camera surveillance or monitoring. With AWS Private 5G, you can specify the coverage you need to build a private mobile network and the number of devices you want to connect and then AWS delivers and maintains the small cell radio unit, the mobile network core and radio access network (RAN) software, and subscriber identity modules (SIM cards) required. AWS Private 5G automates the setup and deployment of the network with no upfront fees or per-device costs so you pay only for the network capacity that you request, and if you find that you want to keep a radio unit for longer than you originally planned, commitment pricing allows you to extend your commitment period and drop to a lower per-hour rate.
1-year and 3-year pricing is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Private 5G is available.
