Today, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) improved the console experience for task definitions workflows. Customers can now use a single page layout to create new and revised task definitions, and also to configure functionality such as container log routing, firelens, container health checks, and more.

Customers use Amazon ECS task definitions as a blueprint for their applications, describing container details, storage requirements, and other configuration parameters. With the new experience, customers can use Amazon ECS console to configure container-level task definition parameters like log routing, health checks, entry point command, etc. Customers can now create new or revised task definitions using a consistent experience on Amazon ECS Console. The new experience supports creating task definitions revisions compatible with Amazon EC2 and AWS Fargate. To create task definitions compatible with ECS Anywhere, you can use the task definitions JSON editor on Amazon ECS console.

The new experience is now available across all AWS regions. You can access it now on Amazon ECS console.
