We are excited to announce that Amazon GameLift now supports the latest generation of compute-optimized AWS Graviton instances. Amazon GameLift is a fully-managed service that allows developers to quickly manage and scale dedicated game servers for multiplayer games. Graviton-based instances are powered by the latest AWS Graviton3 processors and deliver up to 25% higher performance over Graviton2 processors. With this release, Amazon GameLift now supports 68 instance families across 23 regions.

Amazon GameLift now supports eight new instance families, including C7g, which enables the best price performance for compute-intensive gaming workloads. These instances are ideal for Linux-based workloads written in popular game programming languages, such C++, C# and C, and for Unreal Engine based game servers. Further, Graviton3-based instances also use up to 60% less energy for the same performance than comparable EC2 instances, enabling customers to reduce their carbon footprint in the cloud. With this release, Amazon GameLift customers will be able to increase their performance and cost savings using AWS Graviton-based instances.

Graviton-based instances are available in all supported Amazon GameLift regions, except AWS China Regions, and are purchasable as On-Demand, Reserved, or Spot Instances. See the release notes to learn more about Amazon GameLift support for AWS Graviton processors.
