Today, we are excited to launch the ability for Amazon Monitron customers to visualize software billing at the project and site levels through the familiar AWS Cost Explorer console. Monitron's intuitive hierarchical framework, comprising projects and sites, facilitates resource management across diverse divisions and facilities. In response to valuable feedback from our customers, we have identified a common challenge they face — accurately allocating costs to downstream customers and sites. With this update, we aim to address and streamline this crucial aspect of cost management.
With this launch, costs for sensor usage can be precisely allocated to resources in Monitron’s hierarchy such as projects and sites. Customers can now allocate their costs across their divisions by leveraging project-level billing. They can also better understand fine-grained usage at the site level. Overall, these capabilities help both organizations better optimize and allocate their Monitron software costs across their diverse operations.
Amazon Monitron is an end-to-end system that uses machine learning to detect abnormal conditions in industrial equipment and enable predictive maintenance. Amazon Monitron includes purpose-built sensors to capture vibration and temperature data; gateways to automatically transfer data to the AWS Cloud; and a mobile and web application for system setup, analytics, and notification.
To learn more about this capability, see our documentation. This capability is available in all Regions where Amazon Monitron is publicly available. For more information about region availability, see AWS Regional Services.
