Amazon DataZone has added several enterprise features, including support for AWS CloudFormation, a user interface for creating custom data assets, and HIPAA eligibility. Amazon DataZone is a data management service to catalog, discover, analyze, share, and govern data at scale across organizational boundaries with governance and access controls. It provides data visibility and helps data producers and consumers across business units more securely share data.
Amazon DataZone customers can now leverage CloudFormation to effectively model and manage resources, which facilitates consistent provisioning. Amazon DataZone also introduced cataloging assets on the data portal user interface for unstructured data, such as dashboards, queries, and models. Finally, Amazon DataZone is now U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) eligible.
Amazon DataZone is available in the following AWS Regions: US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Stockholm), Europe (London), and South America (São Paulo).
