Amazon WorkSpaces now offers APIs to link your AWS accounts, within the same region, so that these accounts can use the same underlying dedicated infrastructure. AWS enables you to run your Bring Your Own License (BYOL) WorkSpaces on infrastructure that is dedicated to you in the AWS Cloud, and these new APIs make it easier for the you to use your dedicated infrastructure efficiently.
You can link multiple accounts in an AWS Region to help manage the requirements for BYOL Workspaces by using these APIs. In order to link your AWS accounts, you do not need to submit a support ticket. You now have a self-service option to connect your AWS accounts and make use of the same dedicated infrastructure with these new APIs.
These APIs are now available in all commercial AWS Regions where Amazon WorkSpaces is available.
Your source account needs to be BYOL activated in order to use these APIs; any additional accounts with same payer account and in the same region can be linked to the source account. In order to get started and learn more, see Amazon WorkSpaces API Reference.
