Amazon WorkSpaces Secure Browser now supports inline data redaction
Today, AWS End User Computing Services announced customers may now redact specified data fields in web content accessed with Amazon WorkSpaces Secure Browser. With inline data redaction, administrators can create policies that help predict and redact certain data (e.g., Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, etc.) before it is displayed on the screen.
Inline data redaction helps customers raise the security bar for accessing certain data by automatically redacting data from strings of text displayed in web pages. Using the AWS Management Console, administrators can create redaction policies by choosing from 30 built-in data types (e.g., Social Security Numbers, Credit Card Numbers), or create their own custom data types. Administrators can set policies governing the strictness of enforcement and define the URLs where redaction should be enforced. For example, you can define redaction policies for your support agents to help prevent the visual display of credit card numbers from web based payment systems. This way, you can help ensure that the credit card number field is redacted without restricting access to other data necessary to provide support.
Inline data redaction is available for your portal at no additional charge, in all the AWS Regions where WorkSpaces Secure Browser is available.
