New Capabilities Powered by Workday Illuminate™ Will Provide a Centralized System for Managing an Organization's Entire Fleet of AI Agents, From Workday and Third Parties Alike

Customers building their own FM must tackle several challenges in getting a model into production. Getting data organized and fine-tuned, building scalable and efficient training infrastructure, and then deploying models at scale in a low latency, cost-efficient manner is hard. It’s why we’ve built Amazon SageMaker, a managed, end-to-end service that’s been a game changer for developers in preparing their data for AI, managing experiments, training models faster (e.g. Perplexity AI trains models 40% faster in SageMaker), lowering inference latency (e.g. Workday has reduced inference latency by 80% with SageMaker), and improving developer productivity (e.g. NatWest reduced its time-to-value for AI from 12-18 months to under seven months using SageMaker).

Workday adopted Amazon SageMaker to build, train and deploy machine learning models, to rapidly iterate and put AI capabilities into production for its customers. Using AWS allowed Workday to improve inference latency by 5x, scale to tens of millions of daily inference requests with virtually no downtime, meet data residency requirements across regions, and experiment with generative AI using Amazon Bedrock.

AWS and Workday announced an expanded partnership to develop generative AI tools, deepen native AWS integrations for building custom apps on Workday's platform, and collaborate on joint sales/marketing initiatives to help organizations increase productivity, better manage people and money, streamline processes, and accelerate cloud adoption.
